I have been in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at The Citadel since 2003. Prior to coming to The Citadel, I worked for 7 years as a Software Engineer and Architect at Motorola, Inc. in Arizona. I received a Ph.D. from Brigham Young University in 1995, with a specialization in Neural Networks and Machine Learning.
I am interested in how machines can learn and adapt without being explicitly programmed by humans, and in massively parallel computing. I have recently been working on robotics and adaptive algorithms for cyclic combinatorial designs.
I also enjoy martial arts, Lego Mindstorms and chess.
